Obsidian Entertainment jest amerykańskim developerem gier założonym w 2003 roku po rozpadzie Black Isle Studios (odpowiedzialnego za takie gry jak Icewind Dale czy Planescape: Torment) przez jego byłych pracowników. Swoją siedzibę ma w Irvine w Kaliforni. Jego dyrektorem generalnym jest Feargus Urquhart.
